Cycling Coaching FAQ

How is The Fix Coaching different?

We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all training. As longtime cyclists and athletes ourselves, we get what it’s like to juggle training with life. We blend science-based coaching with real-world experience to help you train effectively, avoid burnout, and perform at your best—without overcomplicating things. Our approach also includes movement and strength strategies to keep you riding strong for years to come.

Do I need to be a competitive cyclist to benefit from coaching?

Not at all! While we coach competitive cyclists, we also work with riders who simply want to improve, ride stronger, and feel better on the bike. Whether you’re training for a big event or just looking for structured guidance, coaching can help you progress in a way that fits your goals.

Who is our cycling coaching best suited for?

We coach a wide range of cyclists, from competitive athletes to everyday riders who want to get stronger and feel more confident on the bike. While we specialize in gravel cycling and endurance training, we also work with road cyclists, adventure riders, and those looking to balance cycling with strength training for longevity and injury prevention.

How do I know if coaching is right for me?

Coaching is a great fit if you’re looking for structure, accountability, and expert guidance to improve your cycling, strength, or overall movement. If you’ve ever felt stuck, unsure what to focus on, or want to train smarter—not just harder—coaching can help you get there more efficiently. You don’t need to be an elite athlete to benefit from coaching. Whether you’re training for a big event, trying to stay consistent, or dealing with nagging aches that hold you back, having a plan (and a coach to guide you) can make all the difference. Still unsure? We offer a free discovery call to help you figure out if coaching is the right fit for you—no pressure, just a little chat!

What’s the difference between personalized coaching and a training plan?

Coaching is dynamic and personalized. It includes a plan, but it also comes with ongoing support, feedback, and adjustments based on your progress, challenges, and lifestyle. A coach helps you stay accountable, answers your questions, and ensures your training fits you—not just a generic schedule.

A training plan is a structured roadmap designed for a specific goal, like building endurance or getting stronger. It tells you what to do each day, but it’s static—there’s no adjustment if life happens, and it doesn’t account for how you’re feeling, improving, or struggling.

If you like following a plan and don’t need much guidance, a training plan might be enough. But if you want a more tailored approach with expert support to keep you on track, coaching is the better choice.

I have a busy schedule, will coaching still work for me?

Yes, coaching is all about creating a plan that works for your life. Whether you have limited time or more hours to dedicate, we build a program that adapts to your schedule and evolves week to week. Unlike generic plans, we focus on what’s realistic and sustainable for you, so you can progress without feeling overwhelmed.
