MEET LARRY

Meet Larry Foss, Founder & Head Coach at The Fix

Hi, I’m Larry Foss. My journey into the world of human performance and coaching started in an unexpected way. In the late 80s, I bought my first mountain bike to venture deeper into the woods for hunting. The very next day, I impulsively signed up for a local MTB race, sparking a lifelong passion for cycling and human performance.

This newfound interest led me to dive deep into coaching, further enhanced by earning my massage therapist license to better understand athletes’ bodies. Just a day after graduating from massage therapy school, I found myself working with the Olympic Cycling Team, traveling the world and gaining invaluable experience.

Over the years, I’ve been involved in all facets and disciplines of cycling, working with professional teams and the USA national team as both a soigneur and a coach. My career has taken me to numerous Olympics, World Championships, and World Cups.

In the early 2000s, I founded The Fix Studio as a one-man operation. Soon after, I partnered with Sophie from Montreal, and together, we brought our vision to life. Our mission has always been to equip everyday athletes with the tools, knowledge, and support they need to achieve their life and cycling goals. This mission remains true today, even as we’ve evolved into what we now call Fix 2.0.

Transitioning away from our Minnehaha location has allowed me to refocus on what truly matters: YOU, the everyday athlete. It has also given me more time to reconnect with my first love—riding my bike.

I’m here to offer my coaching expertise and guidance, and to inspire you to tackle any events, goals, or races you have in mind. Let’s achieve greatness together at The Fix.

MEET SOPHIE

Hi/Allo! I’m Sophie St-Jaques, co-owner of The Fix. You might already know that I’m from Montreal and have a love for maple syrup and croissants! Beyond that, I’m passionate about cycling, a love that began in the late 80s when I fell for the Tour de France. As a kid, I was always on two wheels, and my enthusiasm for bike racing took me all over North America and Europe, including events like the Giro d’Italia.

My journey in competitive cycling opened doors to incredible experiences and sparked another passion: human performance. I am an Athletic Therapist, Reconditioning Specialist, and Sport Massage Therapist by trade. Transitioning from an athlete to working with professional cycling teams and the Canadian national teams allowed me to continue traveling the world to numerous World Championships and Games.

While I treasured these experiences, I wanted to transform my passion into a purpose—making it more inspiring and fulfilling. My mission is to help others realize their potential and become Adventure Ready, empowering them to trust their bodies and think big. I believe that with the right mindset and support, you can achieve anything.

Every day, I wake up excited to make an impact through coaching, athletic performance, and reconditioning. My goal is to inspire everyone, especially women, to seize opportunities, become the best and strongest version of themselves, and always be Adventure Ready, whatever that looks like to you.

Ultimately, I hope to create a ripple effect that inspires others to ride bikes, move their bodies, and embrace the adventure of life.

Join us at The Fix, and let’s achieve greatness together!

MEET OTTE

Allow me to introduce myself—I’m Otte! I prefer to go by my last name because it’s cooler than my first. I studied Exercise Sport Science at St. Catherine University, and my passion for sport performance began in high school after tearing my rotator cuff from overuse in fast pitch and tennis, coupled with a lack of strength training.

When I was told to “stop” playing the sports I loved to alleviate the pain, I refused to accept that as the final answer. My journey led me to The Fix Studio at the end of 2016 for my fieldwork study, inspired by my brother who was on the U of M Cycling Team. Despite knowing little about cycling at the time, my primary interest was in strength training.

As my internship concluded, Sophie and Larry didn’t let me go easily. They strongly encouraged me to join The Fix Urban Training Camp. Without a bike, my graduation present from the Fix family and my brothers was my very own road bike, and my real adventures began. Larry’s first comment seeing me on the bike was, “holy shit, you look like a real cyclist.” Now, years later, I can proudly say I feel like a real cyclist.

Today, I’m honored to be a part of what makes The Fix special. My mission is to share, educate, and inspire like-minded individuals to use movement as a tool for a successful, healthy, and happy lifestyle. I believe in finding modifications rather than telling someone to stop doing what they love.

You can find me:
– Online, teaching cycling and strength classes
– In person, working one-on-one
– Behind the scenes, managing our social media and YouTube Channel
– On my bike! Join us for our group rides!

Let’s achieve greatness together at The Fix.
