Meet Katie Otte

Strength & Cycling Coach, Movement Specialist

“Otte” is a passionate advocate for using movement as a tool for a healthy and fulfilling life. With a background in Exercise Sport Science from St. Catherine University, the journey into sport performance began after a high school injury—tearing a rotator cuff due to overuse in fast pitch and tennis, compounded by a lack of strength training. When advised to stop playing the sports loved most to alleviate the pain, there was no acceptance of that solution.

This led to a transformative experience at The Fix Studio in 2016 during fieldwork studies. Inspired by a brother on the U of M Cycling Team, the focus quickly shifted to strength training, though cycling remained a distant curiosity. As the internship ended, Sophie and Larry’s encouragement to join The Fix Urban Training Camp led to an unforgettable graduation gift—a road bike. The moment Larry saw Otte on the bike and said, “holy shit, you look like a real cyclist,” a new adventure began.

Today, Otte is honored to contribute to The Fix’s unique approach. By focusing on empowering others through movement, the goal is to inspire and educate individuals to integrate fitness into their daily lives. Instead of recommending stopping, Otte emphasizes finding modifications to allow people to continue doing what they love.

At The Fix we want to help you be adventure ready on and off the bike!
